Join the Educational Fun at Doodlebug Pals!!!
Our hour long class is structured to mimic a preschool day. You and your child start the morning with:
- Welcome Activity - a "structured" free play activity as we welcome our Doodlebug students & their Mommy to class. Playdough is a favorite welcome activity!
- Circle Time - The official beginning to our class as we sing our "hello" song, participate in calendar and weather activities, introduce the theme of the day and participate in related theme activities.
- Art - Our little fingers jump right in and create the theme inspired art project of the day - we color, paint, glue, cut and have all sorts of fun creating our beautiful works of art!
- Snack & Storytime - You bring your sippy cup and we provide the theme related snack. While our hungry Doodlebugs enjoy their snack, a theme related story is read. What fun!
- Music/Movement - To burn off some of
the energy we just consumed during snack, we participate
in our music and movement segment. With all of the
activities we do, it's hard to list them all, but some of
our favorites are parachute fun, jumping activities, singing
songs and playing instruments.
- Closing Circle - At the end of class, we return back to our circle to sing our "good-bye" song and find out what we'll be doing next week!
The Doodlebug Pals' curriculum is a year long curriculum.
Although the class is divided into three 10-week sessions
(fall, winter and spring), the curriculum is never repeated
during the sessions. For instance, during the Fall Session,
we focus on colors and during the the Winter Session, we focus
on shapes, etc. Each 10 week session introduces new
curriculum. The themes that the children learn about
over the course of the year are: Colors, Shapes, Weather,
Counting, All About Me, Seasons, Holidays, Opposites and Animals.
Classes are limited to 10 students
(along with their Mommy or other special person).
